Who would have thought so much could happen within 74 days? Including over 300 HHS employees carrying out their plants and other personal belonging from the San Francisco Federal Building.
Since RFK Jr. has taken the HHS helm, the agency’s announced plans to reduce ~10,000 employees from the FDA, CDC, NIH, and the Regional offices.
Plus, CMS plans to address “the troubling amount of improper enrollments” in the ACA marketplace.
During our Members’ Discussion we’ll look to hear if and how your healthcare organization has been impacted by the new regime. And, what your response already is or will be. BTW, are there Any Other Issues Keeping You Up Nights?
Then, our Featured Member, Dave Sayen, President of the Board of Trustees, Alameda Health System, and a former career executive with HHS before RFK Jr came to town, will present his perspective on what is currently happening in Washington and throughout the county, where, according to Robert Pearl, MD, 91% of Americans receive government subsidized healthcare (including those of us whose employers get a tax deduction for paying for it, so we can take more money home.)
Dave Sayen served for nearly 40 years with the federal government, under both Republican and Democratic leaders. He is now the President of the Alameda Health Systems’ Board of Trustees. Previously, he was Regional Administrator for Region IX (CA, AZ, NV, HI, and Pacific Territories) for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). As a Senior Fellow of the Council on Excellence in Government, Dave twice received the HHS Secretary’s Distinguished Service Award.
