“Welcome Habitat Health: California’s Newest PACE Program”

Soon, for the first time, Kaiser Permanente members in Sacramento and Los Angeles who are eligible to join a Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly, will be able to maintain their trusted KP relationship – through KP PACE centers and in their homes. Partnered with Town Hall Ventures (which was founded by Healthcare.gov’s turnaround maven, Andy Slavitt), Habitat Health will deliver health and social care to dual eligible older adults with high needs, who’d otherwise reside in a SNF. Habitat will launch in California, then plans to expand to other markets serving PACE-eligible seniors through partnerships with other value-based care providers.

During our Members Discussion , will look to hear how your marketplace is changing – with new entrants and demands, as well as What Else Is Keeping You Up Nights?

Then, thanks to Marcos Vasconcelos‘ introduction, our Featured Guest Speaker, Simon Widdowson, Senior Director of Business Development for Kaiser Permanente, will share the “making of” this remarkable marriage between KP and Town Hall Ventures, a VC firm – albeit one dedicated to “finding innovative ways to improve community health, especially for underserved populations who need it most.” And, how, with only about 3% of PACE-eligible seniors cared for by PACE organizations, Simon hopes their success will “lift all boats,” enabling more PACE-eligibles to take advantage of this remarkable program.

Learn more about this Kaiser Permanente first!

Simon Widdowson‘s Silicon Valley career began with Master’s degrees in Theoretical Physics and Natural Sciences from Cambridge, followed by an MBA in Marketing at Santa Clara which prepared him to be a Software and Systems Researcher at Hewlett Packard, followed by stints in the medical device field with Abbott Vascular, where he led a team responsible for launching a $300 million portfolio of cardiac stents. Then, on to Kaiser Permanente where he’s held progressive responsibilities in Strategy Management, Development and Execution, and ultimately was named Senior Director, Business Development, where he’s led multiple “codename” projects across KP for new growth in products, services, customer segments and geographies – including Habitat Health!
