Navigating Uncertainty – Best Ways?

In our Round Tables, we’ve addressed volatility and uncertainty frequently in the past. Key issues such as major economic downturns (2008-10) forced many of us to rethink our businesses. The arrival of COVID a few years ago was another driver of developing game-changing approaches to running our businesses. Now we are dealing with AI, and more recently, Agentic AI, as they reshape our communications through words, images and videos, and modify the way we conduct business, with new ways to manage our data and workflows.

Coupling these technological drivers of change with a very volatile new U.S. Administration – relative to global and domestic economic policies, military deployments and build-ups, government agency downsizing, and cultural and educational institutional changes – are creating increasing market and societal volatility and uncertainty. These various changes could rapidly impact how many of us will conduct business in the next several months, as we possibly become threatened by changes in our customer base including expectations relative to our product/service offerings and customers’ own financial environments.

In our Discussion Presentation we’ll explore approaches to dealing with this level of uncertainty. For some it’s familiar territory. For others, we’ll be providing new AI-augmented research. And another approach we’ll touch on comes from a book just published on March 4th.

After our Presentation, we’ll get to the most important part of our Discussion, when our Members answer and comment on the following questions:

  • How important is navigating uncertainty to you at this point in time? Why?
  • What are the key uncertainties you now face with your business?
  • What have been the best ways you’ve dealt with past major uncertainties?
  • How do you now plan to deal with your key uncertainties?

As always, we’ll look to hear and discuss, “What’s Keeping You Up Nights?” and we’ll also serve as Strategic Advisory Board Members to Adam Miller as he makes his Featured Member Presentation.
