CONGRATS to ALL of the Southern California ABBY Award Finalists & Winner!
At the Event, held in Long Beach on December 5th, five exceptional healthcare companies competed for this year’s Southern California ABBY Award, in recognition and celebration of their organizations’ innovative technologies and approaches that are dramatically reducing the cost of quality healthcare. The Finalists were selected from among ~30 nominees by a committee of ABL Members with deep industry domain knowledge. (A second Awards Event will be held on Wednesday, December 12th, with five different Finalists and Dave Sayen presenting, in San Francisco.)
The ABBY Winner was chosen via secret ballot by the healthcare executives in attendance at the Event, after viewing presentations made by the CEO or President representing each Finalist company.

The FINALISTS competed for the ABBY on the basis of their company’s approach, device, app, or health IT solution’s ability to Solve a Major Healthcare Problem, with an Innovative Solution, and Metrics that Prove its Efficacy in Lowering the Cost of Quality Care.
Plus, Robert Maloney, MD, Director of Maloney Vision Institute, Keynoted the Event, and was honored with the “Leadership in Innovation Award on behalf of Dr. Ignaz Semmelweis”
Robert Maloney, MD, (pictured at left) has worked at the forefront of innovative vision-correction surgery for 20 years – personally performing 60,000+ vision correction procedures – including on Kim Kardashian. He’s also a brilliant medical edu-tainer and shared with attendees the inspiring backstory of one of the greatest Innovations in Healthcare of all time (hand washing), and how it’s played out in history and art, as well as in today’s routine medical practice.
And the ABBY was Awarded to ImpediMed, Inc.
