Keeping Your Organization Agile – What’s Working?

Last month, we discussed approaches to Navigating Uncertainty. This month, we’ll put emphasis on how members are, or might, create challenging uncertainty for their competitors.

Google’s Gen AI shared: “Agile is the ability to create and respond to change. It is a way of dealing with, and ultimately succeeding in, an uncertain and turbulent environment.” So, it also represents another way for Navigating Uncertainty.

Using “agility” to create change was illustrated last month in the Wall Street Journal: “AI is reshaping the economy by providing automation that transcends traditional time and capacity constraints, enabling businesses to operate seamlessly around the clock according to a partner at Sequoia Capital . He further stated he’d created an investment thesis around the concept.

Also per Google’s Gen AI: In a business context, “agile” refers to a flexible, iterative approach to… (various forms of development), emphasizing adaptability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. It’s a mindset and framework that allows teams to respond to changes efficiently and deliver value incrementally. “‘Agile Scrum’ is just one of four forms of ‘Agile’ addressed in the Gen AI approach.”

After our brief presentation, we’ll get to the most important part of our discussion, our members’ answers and comments relative to the following questions:

  • How important is keeping your organization agile? Why?
  • If important, what are your key approaches to keeping your organization agile?
  • What have been the best ways you’ve dealt with past major uncertainties?
  • Do you now plan to ensure greater organizational agility? How?

As always, we’ll look to hear and discuss, “What’s Keeping You Up Nights?” and we’ll also serve as Strategic Advisory Board Members to Chris Campbell as he makes his Featured Member Presentation.
