Discussion Topic:
Two of the operating company strategies focused upon have grown 60% and 300% in revenues over a decade as a result of an innovation approach profiled in the cover article of the current issue of Harvard Business Review. The article addresses how companies can overcome failing to scale with their innovations. While the former company, in a highly competitive “red ocean” industry grew its market cap 34%, the other one found a blue ocean industry arena and grew its market cap by over 1200% in a decade.
This Key Success Factor is also addressed in a couple of chapters of a new book by the article’s authors. It is assigning a person with “bridger” skills to develop the necessary internal and external “partnering teams” to bring new innovations into full-fledged productivity in existing companies. They define the bridger is the person who deals with the creation and “influential leadership” essential for this.
We’ll also touch upon a palette of 15 other key success factors which have demonstrated their effectiveness even when only a few of them are used by companies applying them.
